Under the standard factory warranty, BAC covers parts that fail during the warranty period due to defect in the part. The warranty does not cover labor. A warranty is specific to the model numbers, serial numbers, and the BAC Balticare maintenance services that may have been provided in your original contract. If you cannot find your warranty certificate, your BAC Balticare Representative should be able to provide you with the information.

Reducing water usage is not only good for the environment, it is good you’re your companies bottom-line profitability. There are various alternatives to reducing water usage in wet cooling systems. The final selection is dependent on operating water conditions such as water volume, quality and temperature. Your BAC Balticare representative can analyze such data and provide recommendations for the best, most cost-effective solution to help you reduce your water consumption. The fan on a cooling tower draws in thousands of cubic feet per minute of outside air that contains sand, dust, insects, and fibers from vegetation. These airborne contaminants mix with the process cooling water and eventually these suspended particles find their way into heat transfer surfaces. After a period of time these surfaces become fouled and insulated causing equipment to run hotter and replacement or repair is necessary.
By removing 98% of these suspended solids mechanically, fouling is greatly reduced and chemical water treatment and bleed from the system can be reduced.
There are 2 types of side-stream filters commonly used in cooling water systems, Media (Sand) filters, and Cyclone Separators.  Your BAC Balticare representative is fully trained to help you decide which system is most cost-effective for your operation.
The key to good filtration is to provide a system where the dirt and sediments are efficiently removed from the cooling tower sump, and therefore enter the filter for separation from the water.  BAC Balticare is a specialist in custom designing sump sweeper piping to achieve this goal. Contact your BAC Balticare representative to learn more.

Cleaning and disinfection of the wetdeck surface should always be carried out in accordance with regulatory or site specific health and safety requirements. How easy this can be done depends on the regulations and the type of your cooling tower. Some fill packs are easy to clean, others require sheets or pack replacement.  Also note that cleaning is not a substitute for water treatment, it is part of an overall maintenance programme. The cleaning of your fill pack can be carried out by BAC Balticare trained servicemen, taking all health and safety requirements into consideration. Contact your BAC Balticare representative to discuss your fill pack cleaning problem.

A clean, properly treated and well maintained cooling tower avoids growth of bacteria, including legionella. Effective water treatment programmes act in a preventive manner by automatically controlling the dosing of chemicals and bleed-off to  keep your cooling tower not only safe but also efficient. You need a water treatment programme that meets your needs and is in full compliance with local legal requirements and codes of practices. This is why BAC Balticare offers a wide range of automatic water treatment and filtration packages to control microbiological growth in cooling systems incorporating BAC equipment. We advise you to contact your local BAC Balticare representative to discuss your needs and find the best solution for your cooling equipment.

First of all it is important to know what type of cooling tower you have installed, is it an open or a closed circuit cooling tower? Regulations and laws could be different for each type. Some regulations are very specific in describing what can be considered as open or closed type equipment. Further in some countries there is no regulation at all; in others different regulations are possible according to the region.
The following study by the European Working Group for Legionella Infections (EWGLI) is a useful summary of the various legislations in different European countries.   The survey summary can be found in Table 2 on page 3.
And as it is with all laws and regulations, they are written in such a formal language, that equipment owners sometimes find it hard to understand what the text really means. That's why BAC Balticare has experts in house who serve on key industry professional bodies to ensure accurate, up-to-date knowledge of national regulations and legislation. Do you want to know if your cooling tower is compliant with the regulations, ask the advice from your local BAC Balticare representative.
